The tutor can't hear me / my microphone isn't working

Because BetterSpeak is built around spoken conversations, microphone access is essential for the app to function properly. If your tutor isn't responding or appears unable to hear you, the first step is to verify that BetterSpeak has permission to access your device's microphone.

You should also make sure that nothing is blocking the microphone and that you're practicing in a reasonably quiet environment. Background noise can sometimes interfere with speech recognition and affect the quality of conversations. In many cases, simply closing and reopening the app can refresh the connection and resolve temporary issues.
